The Vermont Community Geothermal Alliance participates in the Thermal Utility Reform Initiative, a national coalition led by Building Decarbonization Coalition.

We’re one of twelve states in the first cohort, sharing resources, garnering support, and bringing ideas back to Vermont.

We’re also one of the only states exploring community-scale networked thermal systems and new ownership models.  With only one gas company in our state that’s already building a new business unit for networked geothermal, we have a big opportunity for our solutions to create public power and maximize community benefits.
